Journalists barred as Buhari meets 82 released Chibok girls

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday evening received the newly released 82 Chibok girls at his official residence in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The girls were accompanied by the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan. Journalists and State House correspondents were reportedly not allowed to have access to the venue.

 

JAMB registers 1.7 million Candidates for UTME, highest in history

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said 1.7 million candidates registered for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The examination body said the figure is the highest in its 39-year existence.

Macron elected French President

Emmanuel Macron has been elected President of France winning 65 and 66 per cent of the votes. The 39-year-old defeated far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen. Le Pen conceded defeat and said she called Emmanuel Macron to congratulate him.
