Ambode and Tinubu are “not in any controversy”
Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has attempted to clear the air about rumours making rounds that he and his political godfather, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu have fallen out.
Ambode who has submitted his APC nomination form for his second term aspiration said on Wednesday, “I want you to know that there is no fight anywhere. The National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my good self, we are not in any fight, we are not in any controversy. We are praying to God that the best is yet to come and the best will be what Lagos State deserves and I want you to just continue with your prayers that at this time, God will show His hand and make sure that everything that is of blessing to Lagos State and also blessing of Epe will come to pass,”
This comes after speculations of a conflict both politicians filled social and traditional media on Tuesday.
Tinubu is said to have shifted support from Ambode to a certain Jide Sanwoolu who has also picked up a nomination form for the APC.
Meanwhile, Twitter users had so much to say about Ambode’s administration and why his chances at a second term are very slim:
Ambode had the opportunity to build on what Fashola did. Instead, he went on a witch hunt of “everything BRF” from suspected human agents to supposed BRF legacy projects. In the process, he turned simple solutions to complex problems. Ever coming, never arriving. Time for Change?

Ambode’s roads are like paper. Build today, crumble tomorrow. Lagos is still dirty. Politics aside, things are worse in Lagos than 4 years ago.

Dear Governor Ambode, I do not know a thing as regards politics but I want you to take a bike from Mile 2 to Okoko once, just once and see if you’d want to vote yourself in again If you were in our shoes..😪

Lagos roads are in a sordid state. Governor Ambode hasn’t been very impressive despite the huge resources available to him. If he doesn’t perform in his first term, what will happen in his second & last term when he no longer needs our votes? Lagos deserves better.

On the issue of high-priced nomination forms, Oby Ezekwesili has something to say
The 2019 elections are around the corner and political parties are raking in cash by placing ridiculously expensive tags on their nomination forms.
A number of politicians have decried the high prices while others have been able to purchase the forms thanks to rallied support from party faithfuls.
Former Minister of Education and BBOG convener, Obiageli Ezekwesili has shared her stance on the matter and we think it’s valid:
When I decide to run for elective office, no way any Party that charges above N100,000 for Nomination Forms would get my membership.
Tufiakwa. I would not want some amoeba group paying for my form with money that has an OPAQUE source.
Also, I’ll do Transparent Fund Raising.✌🏿— Oby Ezekwesili (@obyezeks) September 11, 2018
Thanks, but I’ll be able to afford to pay for a N100,000 nomination form. Next is, launch an Open Source Campaign Fund once I have become a candidate. Public can then contribute from N1 to the maximum of N1million approved by Section91 sub section 9 of the InEC law.
Okay? 😁✌🏿— Oby Ezekwesili (@obyezeks) September 11, 2018
